Abstract
This thesis introduces a two-part framework for the revival of indigo-culture in the North American South. The first part facilitates assessment of the craft, and the second part facilitates preservation and revival. Current frameworks for the revivals of other crafts and arts, such as music, are inadequate to encompass the cultural diversity involved with indigo-culture, especially the diversity that exists in the South. This thesis describes the historic nature of indigo-culture in the South, asses its current conditions and introduces a framework for the revival of indigo-culture.
