Abstract

This thesis is a comprehensive landscape architecture thesis focused on revitalizing two key areas in Jesup: Cherry Street and Jesup Junior High School. Conducted as a terminal project for the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Georgia and sponsored by the City of Jesup and Georgia Power Company, this project aims to address aesthetic and functional deficiencies in Cherry Street and Jesup Junior High School. Some of the problems identified were the disorganized architectural styles, excessive and unattractive signage, and visible utility pipes and overhead power lines. The following solutions were proposed during this project such as a unified facade treatment, the removal or redesign of signage, and the relocation of utility lines to alleys.
