Abstract

This thesis outlines the purpose of designing a landscape development plan for the expansion of Blue Star Camps, accommodating 300 campers. The site's location is near Hendersonville, NC, nestled between two ridges with an 8-acre lake at the center, at the base of Mt. Pinnacle. First unit built in 1949 by Harry and Herman Popkin and expanded over time without professional planning. The goal was to harmonize human use with natural surroundings and groups, with three distinct areas for: senior boys, senior girls, and a dance group (leased separately).
