Abstract
This thesis outlines a comprehensive redevelopment plan for a blighted area near downtown Athens. The project aimed to revitalize a deteriorated area bounded by the Seaboard Airline Railroad (North), Broad Street (South), Pulaski Street (West), and the North Oconee River (East). It was the second urban renewal initiative in Athens, following a dormitory-focused project for the University of Georgia. The thesis proposes a riverside recreational and residential development instead, including a scenic parkway along the North Oconee River and Highrise.
