Abstract
Supported by the theoretical works of Mikhail Bakhtin, Michel Foucault, and GeorgesBataille, I intend to show how discourse and eroticism are used as strategies to subvertpatriarchal social structures in the books Lavoura arcaica, by Raduan Nassar, and Umaaprendizagem ou o livro dos prazeres, by Clarice Lispector. A comparative analysis of the twonovels demonstrates the similarities between how two characters, Andr and Lri, appropriatethese strategies to overcome control, exposing the mechanisms by which discourse and eroticismmay be manipulated within repressive structures.
