Abstract

A low cost, custom-built, CT scanner was utilized to obtain cross sectional images of yellow sweet onions that were inoculated with pathogens or subjected to mechanical damage. The CT images were analyzed for features that could potentially be used to detect signs of pathogen or mechanical damage in an on-line onion packing house quality assessment apparatus.
