Abstract
Recently the disability community celebrated the milestone 25th year of the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA, 1990). Though there is much to celebrate, there is yet still far more to go in terms of what we know about individuals with a disability, especially in the context of the workplace. The present study sought to specifically explore the process of disclosing ones disability status in the workplace, and how these behaviors may be shaped by his or her disability identity. Utilizing a population of employees with disabilities from various organizations and industries, relationships were explored through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and results indicated nuanced evidence based on the level of disability visibility.
