Abstract

This study examines the unique characteristics of rural community resiliency and health in the face of a crisis based on the community capitals framework. Qualitative interview data and quantitative observational scale assessments are used to understand rural community leader’s perception of resiliency and health during COVID-19, and how the present community resources in five rural counties build community resiliency. The partnership between the University of Georgia, the CDC, extension professionals, and rural community coalition leaders provides the opportunity to deconstruct the complexities of community capitals in rural community resiliency, health, and development.
