Abstract
There currently exists a large gap in the original repertoire for the alto trombone. This project examines historical and current trends for alto trombone performance and pedagogy. Additionally, three collections of pieces are transcribed for the alto trombone, with the accompanying lecture recital showcasing selections from each larger work.
