Abstract
Under favorable environmental conditions, peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.) produce adequate vine growth and yield throughout the season. However, changes in production practices and environmental conditions during maturity can influence growth, yield, and quality of peanut. The overall objective of this study was to evaluate how the implementation and timing of production factors influence peanut productivity and quality. Studies were conducted in 2021 and 2022 to evaluate the efficacy of a new prohexadione calcium formulation on vine growth suppression, disease incidence, yield, and economic return on runner market-type cultivars, Studies were also conducted on the impact of different planting and harvest dates on yield, germination, and vigor of seed peanuts. Studies concluded that changes in formulation and rate of prohexadione calcium influence peanut yield and quality. In addition, planting and harvest date timings are important to maximize yield and produce quality seed each year.
