Abstract
The thesis presents a comprehensive plan to redevelop and expand Hard Labor Creek State Park to meet increasing recreational demands. The park, originally designed for camping, swimming, and picnicking, was facing overcrowding and lacked sufficient facilities. Some of the key issues identified were the overcrowded camping and picnic areas, limited recreational diversity, inadequate infrastructure to support growing visitor numbers, and anticipated increase in visitors due to nearby interstate development. Some of the proposed improvements are the restoration of an old mill into a restaurant, new picnic and parking facilities, tennis courts, arboretum and natural garden, boating and fishing amenities.
