Abstract
This project outlines the landscape architecture and site development plan for the new St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, Georgia. It addresses the challenges and solutions related to grading, circulation, parking, planting, and overall site planning for a modern hospital facility. It is a 135-bed facility with modern amenities including private and semi-private rooms, intensive care units, and advanced infrastructure. The site had a natural pine forest and sloped terrain; drainage and erosion were major concerns due to the slope, and views of Athens and surrounding areas influenced building orientation.
