Abstract

This thesis presents a comprehensive urban renewal proposal for developing a civic center in North Little Rock. The project is part of an urban renewal initiative aimed at revitalizing a section of North Little Rock. The site is located between Willow Street and Orange Street, south of Interstate Highway 40, extending to the North Little Rock High School. The purpose is to create a unified civic space that fosters community pride and engagement, integrate existing buildings (Library, Police and Courts) with proposed structures (City Hall, Auditorium, Art Museum, Health Center, Post Office), and it emphasizes pedestrian-friendly design with plazas, shaded sitting areas, and minimal vehicular intrusion.
