Abstract
This thesis presents a comprehensive design, planting, and construction plan for a 286-acre subdivision in Clarke County, south of Athens, Georgia. Bordered by the Oconee River and the University of Georgia's Horticultural Farm, this project was conceived to house university personnel and integrate with a proposed university golf course, addressing increased student enrollment and recreational needs. The design features 143 usable lots averaging 1.30 acres, a functional road network including main entrance drives (Fairway Drive and Club Drive) with specified widths and grades, and detailed plans for street improvements, sanitary facilities, storm drainage, and street tree planting (e.g., Norway Maple, Red Maple, Sweetgum). The overall aim was to create a pleasant residential environment with integrated recreational opportunities.
