Abstract
The question of defining Christian progressivism is not one tackled very often by seminary students or academic scholars. While there are strands of liberal Christian thought throughout theological scholarship, none have been identified as progressive. In this thesis I seek to identify the traits of Christian progressivism as outlined by social gospel movements, process theology, and liberation theology. These schools of thought introduce to theology concepts that allow for a progressive worldview to emerge. INDEX WORDS: Christian theology, Progressive Christianity, Liberation theology, Process theology, Social gospel, Feminist Theology, Black theology.
