Abstract
Employee well-being is an important component of overall well-being. Employees who are fulfilled by their work tend to have higher levels of well-being. Yet, many employees today report that their current working situation is unfulfilling and that they are dissatisfied. This dissertation explores the ways in which people operate in their work environments - specifically, how employees maintain their well-being in their current working conditions. Across three studies, I examine how employees use resources in one life domain to impact their well-being in another, how employees recalibrate their work-life balance, and how employees evaluate whether to stay or leave their current jobs.
