Abstract

Ground water supplies a large percentage of the drinking water in south Georgia. Poor irrigation practices and irrigation systems that do not apply water uniformly represent a real pollution threat to ground water. Excess deep percolation or surface runoff poses possible health hazards as well as inefficient use of natural resources. This assessment allows you to evaluate the environmental soundness of your farm relating to your irrigation practices.
