Abstract

Although numerous studies have examined anti-Blackness in K-12 classrooms, this study provides alternatives and possibilities based on Black women teachers' creative and inventive labor. Using portraiture as a qualitative research methodology, this study demonstrates how 16 self-identified Black women teachers refuse the crooked schoolhouse in the afterlife of Brown.
