Abstract

This thesis offers an explication of Jerrold Levinsons arguments for the realism of aesthetic properties, insofar as he claims that some are real as response-dependent properties, and others are real as non-response-dependent properties. A range of objections are considered before finally concluding that Levinsons position fares no better than the anti-realists version of aesthetic properties as dispositions.
