Abstract
This thesis investigates the digital-literary phenomenon of #instapoetry, that is, the poetry published on the social network Instagram. Following a critical discussion of Instagrams structure and underlying logics, this thesis examines the writing and online activity of three prominent (#insta)poets based in the Americas and Europe: the Indian-Canadian Rupi Kaur, Elvira Sastre of Spain, and So Paulos Ryane Leo. Through a comparative reading of their respective approaches to #instapoetryonline and in print, visually and verballythis thesis traces the interplay between digital medium and poetic content in the global production of #instapoetry.
