Abstract

This thesis traces the transition of Fritz Lang from German cinema to American. The development of Langs style and techniques used to demonstrate social and political aspects of society both in post war Germany and post war America are being discussed. Furthermore this thesis shows, through the close study of two of Langs major films, the expressionistic tendencies that Lang later conveyed in his noir films.
