Abstract
This thesis examines the growth of population in Atlanta as well as the change in park users and the effects the increasing number of park visitors and their new uses have on Piedmont Park. Passive and active groups within Piedmont Park were studied and compared to the land available for use in the park. After a description of the active and passive groups within the park and their needs: an additional fifty acres is assessed to see if more land presents a solution to the present conflicts in Piedmont Park.
