In the past 10 years, broiler breeder livability has improved significantly in both the rearing and production phases. For the modern broiler breeder female, it is not uncommon to achieve accumulated mortality rates in rearing and production together as low as 8%. Described below are some of the programs being used both domestically and internationally to achieve optimal livability in broiler breeders.
