Abstract
I report on the comparison of the syllabi of grades 1 through 7 of the Indian National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) on Fractions. My study involves interviewing nine students (four from USA and five from India) and analyzing the interviews, which reveals some of the possible problems in the NCERTs syllabi and textbooks on fractions. I present some suggestions to NCERT to improve the standards for the learning of fractions.
